Wow!
"What a great show! Perfect timing from the entire cast, and entertaining comedy at the appropriate points. Very well done for trying to get the point across. Bringing things to light and making women know they're not alone in what they are perceiving. Bravo! "

Powerful Performances by All
"This play is worth seeing for the incredibly moving final scene alone! The entire cast is amazing and the energy each actor brings to their character creates a totally engrossing experience for the audience. The themes are mature and the show becomes pretty dark, so be cautious bringing anyone under 13."

Stunning and moving
"The way things snuck up on you in this show was incredible. And all of the characters were so well acted. A truly complex look at what it means to be a teenage girl. "

Provocative
"I liked each actor’s performances, especially the 5 high school girls. The school counselor was also a pleasant surprise in the end. My husband and I, both high school humanities teachers, cannot stop talking about it!"

A very nuanced depiction of a very complicated subject
"Loved the characterization. Very subtle nuances and layers made me think. Excellent play and great for little kids even though there is cursing. "

A Must See!
"Picked this show for the incredible cast, loved it not only for them but for the story. It tells the story so many are familiar with and yet don't really examine outside of English Honors classes in high school. This book and play should be mandatory reading along with The Crucible in all high schools. Emotional, hysterical, awkward, moving, thought-provoking. Why do we make John Proctor the hero in that story? If you really look at it, maybe he is the villain. Will have you dancing by the end. May not be suitable for children less than 12 (language/themes)."

Brilliant Play!
"This play was absolutely amazing! The actors and actresses were great! The topic and language would not be appropriate for young children, but teenagers and adults would love the humor! I really don’t think that there are any bad seats in the theater. This was one of the best Broadway performances I’ve seen. "

I didn't expect to be this moved
"Hearing the themes, I worried it might be cheesy. But it wasn't even a little. It was beautiful and made me cry and smile and feel a catharsis I didn't know I needed. The performances were also just phenomenal. I have never seen a Broadway show twice, but I have already bought my tickets to see this again before it closes."

We Loved John Proctor
"My wife and I absolutely loved this play. We sat mesmerized for two hours and, along with the entire audience, rose for a standing ovation at the end. The casting was brilliant. The premise behind the play is smart and topical. And the acting was top notch. I had no expectations going in. But John Proctor is a Villain is one of the best plays we have seen in years. "

You are all winners!!
"During the final scene it took everything in me not to jump up out of my seat and dance along with the “ teenagers” on stage. I taught these kids. I miss these kids. Thanks for a tender, revealing and joyous ride from start to finish."

Great entertainment!
"The production of 'John Proctor is the Villan' at the Booth Theater was a delight! The script is clever and moves along well, thought-provoking with great use of humor. Loved the set and costumes, but the play's execution was THE BEST! They nailed the teen-age vibe. Every actor was compelling. It was the capstone of our trip to NYC"

Honest, timely and yet timeless all at once!
"This play is so important and speaks to the joys and pains of coming of age as a young female. You hear a lot of buzz about this being the voice of Generation Z and I do agree that it tells their tale first and foremost but it also speaks to generational trauma that sexism has created! I saw this with my 14 year old daughter and we laughed, cried and then had the most amazing talks! It has been a week and I am still thinking about it! Sadie Sink delivers a perfect performance! But the rest of the cast is right there giving you such a believable and refreshing show!"

About John Proctor is the Villain

At a high school in a rural town in Georgia, an English class is studying The Crucible, but the students are more preoccupied with navigating young love, sex ed, and a few school scandals. As they delve into the American classic, the students begin to question the play’s perspective and the validity of naming John Proctor the show’s hero. With deep wells of passion and biting humor, John Proctor is the Villain is a new comedy from a major new American voice, capturing a generation in mid- transformation, running on pop music, optimism, and fury, and discovering that their future is not bound by the past.
